I finally have been able to restart the MacZone project. You might be wondering what the MacZone project is. MacZone is an application I started developing about 3 years ago, before creating Startrail. MacZone is only a temporary name, of course, and the final one will be different. I was forced to stop developing it by various events in my life, but I finally managed to restart its development. Unfortunately, due to my actual full day job, I don't have much time to devote to it, but I'm getting up very early in the morning, so it is progressing at a slow but steady pace. Hopefully soon I will be able to get a new MacBook Pro (I'm waiting for Apple to upgrade it, which should happen in these days, according to rumors), so I will be able to speed up the development working during weekends (when I have to go back home) and my train travels. Functionally speaking the development is at 80%, but the code needs to be refactored almost entirely due to changes in the user interface, in the OS X technologies and in my knowledge of the Cocoa Framework. So we can consider the app development at about 50%. You probably are still wondering what exactly MacZone will be. I'm sorry, but at this time I just can't tell you what it is. You will have to wait. I will give more informations on this topic later.

Here we are. The version 2.0 of Startrail has been finally released. There are a lot new features, as you can see in the presentation page and in the release notes. Luckily Apple has just fixed the bug that affected Spaces and Quartz Composer, so Startrail now seems to work perfectly on Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.3. If you still experience some problems, please let me know. Startrail is now a sharware application (sort of), but you can still use it without a license. The only limitation is that it will quit after half an hour and you will have to restart it. The payment process is handled by PayPal. If you experience any kind of problem, please contact us. As always, suggestions are really appreciated. Enjoy the new version!

It's been a while since the last update of the news, so I want you to keep you informed on the release of the new version of Startrail. Startrail 2.0 development is completed. It experienced some delay due to my graduation, the beginning of a new job and moving to a new city, but now it's done. The reason I'm still not releasing it is for some legal intricacies of italian laws on selling software online (don't worry, there will still be an option to use it free). I want to figure this out as better as possible, so you will have to wait some more time. When it will be all right, the new version of Startrail will be released.

As I supposed Startrail keeps working normally on Leopard. I tested it intensively and it does not seem to show any problem. I updated the system requirements accordingly. If someone will notice some problem, please email me. Thank you.
