Startrail still not working on Snow Leopard 10.6.3
Wednesday, 31 March 2010 06:31

The last OS update did not fix the bug that prevents Startrail from working on Snow Leopard.

Unfortunately this is not a Startrail bug, but an OS bug I already filed to Apple (and that Apple aknowledged). I tried very hard to find a workaround it, but it seems not to be possible. Since it is a very particular bug I don't know wether or when Apple will fix it (obviuosly Apple does not disclose this kind of information).

I'm really sad for this, because a lot of people liked it and I also received emails from partially blind people that really needed Startrail to use their computer. Some decided not to upgrade to Snow Leopard or even to downgrade the OS to avoid losing Startrail.

I have to sit still and wait for Apple to decide to fix this. Believe me, I really wish I could fix this and I tried everything I can. I hope some future OS update will finally fix the bug.

Is there a thread on Apple's site or a bug ID for what you reported and if so, can you post it please? It seems like pushing this as an accessibility issue for the disabled might make this a higher priority to fix.

Hi Don,
sorry for the late reply, I just relocated to another country and I have still problems with my internet.

The ID of the bug I reported is 7264562 and is aknowledged as a duplicate of bug 7237290.

Hope this helps.
